Having raised more than Rs. 3 million for floof relief, Next Generation Pakistan sat down with Asifa Irfan Foundation to develop a strategy on how to utilize some of the funds towards long-term rehabilation.
In this regard, a proposal was finalized whereby NGP decided to fund the construction of eight houses in district Kot Addu. The project took a few months to complete, and it was finally completed on the 22nd of April 2012.
Each house costs roughly Rs. 125,000 with enough room to put 6 ‘manjees’/beds. The standard size of one house is 17 x 14. The brick walls are cemented and painted – both the inner and the outer walls. Each house comes with one washroom and one bathroom built next to the house. The size(17 x 14) is exclusive of the washroom and the bathroom.
